Maxwell - Jeremy C. Gredone (Author), Sherene Offutt (Illustrator)

Maxwell is a unique children's book that celebrates the power of imagination and dreams. It’s a story about transcendence, and the extraordinary blossoming out of the ordinary. It is about the timeless and ever-expanding bond between parent and child, and the priceless lessons of love they hold for each other. While Maxwell is primarily created for children, parents will be delighted at the extras designed with them in mind. Truly something for all ages to enjoy!

I really can’t say it enough―this never should have happened. I am the accidental children’s book author. I am simply the man with enough luck to be the receiver of an amazing gift from a very unlikely source. This book, in a very organic way, demanded itself written . . . and I complied. For whatever reason, who we are in time―past, present, and future―has always fascinated me. I muse on who I’ve been and dream about who I’ll be. I’m amazed at how many lives we’re truly afforded in this one. Remembering how to look at the world with the eyes of a child is at the heart of this particular journey. As a wise man once told me, “We are all students and teachers for life.” My deepest thanks to you always, Maxwell.

An Interesting Interview with Author Daniel Roberts

D
aniel Roberts talks about “Purest Mercy” in candid interview.

Is There a Message in Your Novel That You Want Readers to Grasp?

The message I hope readers will grasp is that there is still healing that is possible in this world, that miracles can and do still happen, and that God still touches people in profound and beautiful ways that enable them to be conduits of Divine Love and Mercy.  Some people are close enough to God that, like the saints and mystics of past centuries, they become vessels of the Divine, in and through whom extraordinary events take place and extraordinary gifts are given.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

My greatest challenge in writing Purest Mercy was in finding ways to communicate about transcendent experiences—events that are unknowable and indescribable—using mere words.  At the same time, it was a wonderful challenge that I would embrace again and again.  There are so many miraculous, supernatural, and otherworldly events that take place in this story, and yet, eventually, each and every one fell into its place seamlessly alongside the others, described in language that is readily accessible and frequently moving.

How many books have you written and which is your favorite?

I have written two novels, though only Purest Mercy has been published.  The first novel, called Beauty for Ashes, was written between 1999 and 2001, but I did not at that time have the means to self-publish.  That earlier novel was a fuller account of the same story told in Purest Mercy.  However, I much prefer Purest Mercy, which condenses the original story down from several years into an urgent sixteen hours.  Also, the first novel was told exclusively from the perspectives of Bethany Lewis and David Mullins.  As it turned out, the inception for Purest Mercy came when I began to revisit the original story, but to do so incorporating Mercy’s perspective.  From there, the second book came to life.

If You had the chance to cast your main character from Hollywood today, who would you pick and why?

I do not honestly know who would be the ideal actress to play Mercy today.  Had the earlier story, Beauty for Ashes, been self-published in 2001, I think Claire Danes would have been perfect for the role of Mercy.  She has always struck me as being someone of deep humility, quiet beauty, and intense faith.

When did you begin writing?

I began seriously writing, with the intention of making a career out of it, in 1999, with Beauty for Ashes.  I sent the completed novel to two dozen agents and nearly eighty publishers, hoping to get published the old-fashioned way.  But though I received many enthusiastic and encouraging responses from both agents and publishing houses, no one was willing to take a chance on a first-time author.

How long did it take to complete your first book?

My first book, Beauty for Ashes, actually came together in a little less than two years; but I had a great deal more time to write in those days, and in any event, that novel was never published.  The first (self) published work, Purest Mercy, took six years.

Did you have an author who inspired you to become a writer?

My great-aunt Carole Plemmons, who passed away in 2008, was a tremendous inspiration, and she self-published her work through Outskirts Press, which was how I came to turn to them for my own self-publishing needs when the time came.  But her book, Amazed By Grace, was a devotional, not a novel.  There have been many novelists who have inspired me, including Joseph Girzone, Gore Vidal, John Jakes, and David Nevin.  I greatly enjoy historical fiction, and those last three authors are absolute masters of the genre.  Still, Christian fiction is my favorite, and for me no one quite embodies it like Girzone with his Joshua series.

What is your favorite part of the writing process?

My favorite part of the writing process is seeing how each character begins over time to take on a life of his or her own.  They start to seem less and less like fictional characters I am creating, and more and more become real people whose stories are yearning to be told.  This was especially and poignantly true of Mercy, who in and through her very nature embodies humility, courage, selflessness, healing, and holiness.  There is no one like her, and if ever a character in a Christian novel deserved to be shared with the world, it is Mercy.

Describe your latest book in 4 words.

A Unique, Unforgettable Treasure

Can you share a little bit about your current work or what is in the future for your writing?

I am presently in the early stages of development on my next novel, which, hopefully, will not take anywhere near as long, now that I have been through the self-publication process the first time.  This next novel is also going to be a Christian fiction story, which will incorporate supernatural elements, albeit in a different way than Purest Mercy.  Meanwhile, I am going to do everything I can to ensure that Mercy’s story impacts as many lives as possible.

An interesting Interview with Author of Every Third Night | Mitch Maiman

Mitch Maiman talks about “Every Third Night” in candid interview.

What is your favorite Quote or Words to live by?

“Writing is its own reward” – Henry Miller.

For those of us who are blessed with the ability to effectively compose the written word, nothing else is necessary. It doesn’t matter if you are recognized for your work, compensated for your efforts, or universally admired or detested. Writing is pure joy. The process, whatever your unique and individual form of it might be, is like cooking the greatest of gourmet meals, with the completed manuscript becoming the savory dinner. The beauty lies in the elation of expression, in relating your version of the world in whatever style suits you. You could delete your entire novel the moment it is finished, or print it out only to rip it up and throw it in the trash, and the result should be the same –a sense of accomplishment, comfort and delight in your ability to create.

In your book, who is your favorite/most relatable character?

The protagonist, Jimmy Zito. He is complex young man, with an enormous amount of internal conflict that characterizes so many of our lives. In addition, although outwardly he seems very put together and stable, his inner demons haunt his ability to find true peace in his life. One-dimensional characters may be functional in the simplest of movies or on television series, but good novelists must create identities that are believable and move the reader.Ones that elicit emotion. And for that to happen, the stars of every novel must grapple with similar issues that plague real people’s lives. Jimmy Zito is all of that.

In your book, what is your favorite chapter?

Chapter 29, by far. That is the place where the entire novel comes together, where all the sub-plots merge and the story becomes whole. When I started the novel, I had absolutely no idea where the plot would take me. I simply created the characters and let them emerge and develop their distinct personalities. I allowed their growth to dictate the progression of the plot. Then, and only then, could the story line logically proceed accordingly. I didn’t know how Chapter 29 would turn out until I completed Chapter 28.

Please share your favorite excerpt from you book.

“He used a fresh bar of soap to violently clean every crevice of his body as if the force and completeness of this ritual could remove the pain from his core. His tears mixed with the water from the showerhead, and at times seemed equal in volume.

As steam continued to accumulate around him, he cleaned himself into utter exhaustion, using the last ounce of his energy to turn the silver knob

expelling the water to counterclockwise completion.”

This excerpt illustrates the obsessive desperation that the protagonist demonstrated in attempting to rid himself of his awful experience.

Please share your favorite quote from your book.

“Sensations were suppressed until the next hour or next day or next month, and vague anxiety lingered indefinitely until it became outright discomfort.”

This quote exemplifies the poisonous quagmire of residency training and its inherent sense of helplessness.

Explain your book cover design concept and how you came up with the idea.

The book cover design was created in an effort to transmit three distinct messages. First, the life of a resident, continuing to work as the sun comes up, unshaven and obviously awake all night, exhausted beyond comprehension. Second, the shabby conditions of the environment; unmade bunk beds, disheveled on-call room, dirty cups of coffee and medical records randomly dispersed in the environment. The paradoxical expectation that first class medical care is expected to be delivered in third class surroundings. And third, this dedicated young professional still trying to concentrate and perform his job no matter what the obstacles. Commitment even in the face of turmoil. Dedication despite hypocrisy.

Coming up with the idea was easy. I just imagined myself enduring the countless sleepless nights in the hospital during my own residency training, creating an internal picture of my actual life during that difficult time.

Even though your book is Fiction is it based on a real-life experience?

Yes, it is based not only on my own experiences during a grueling residency program in a large New York City municipal hospital in the 1980’s, but undoubtedly on the similar encounters of thousand of my colleagues throughout that time period and others. In addition, although conditions in health care training have dramatically improved over the last couple of decades, many of the issues still glaringly exist today, and our youngest and our brightest physician pool is still exposed to unnecessary hardship and trauma. My novel attempts to bring the civilian reader into this foreign world of health care, while,at the same time, potentially validating the career experiences of the physician reader.

Redemption: One Woman's Dream to Overcome Oppression, Find Family, Love and Forgiveness

Greed is invisible until you see the damage it inflicts on innocent children. Redemption, a young adult fiction story, exposes raw images of families caught between social lines when federal funds, intended to trickle down from corporate landowners never makes it into the hands of tenant farmers.

When agriculture was the bedrock of the American economy, families, suddenly penniless, lost nearly everything in historic floods, bank failures, political and social annihilation. But at their core, one family would not let catastrophes defeat them.Adele Christina Dawson, the oldest stepchild of an imbittered farmer, is suddenly thrust into adulthood when her mother dies giving birth to a 10th child.

At 15 years of age, she is the blended family’s only hope to help raise the infant, tend to her stepsisters, and become the matriarch. But Adele has other plans. She remembers her life as the young daughter of a once-wealthy coal owner, and she intends to find a way back to West Virginia, despite her stepsister’s efforts to keep her from leaving. The more intentional she becomes, the more she learns she is living with a man who knows the real story behind her father’s death.

An Interesting Interview with Melissa Pombo

M
elissa Pombo talks about “The Last Bite & her upcoming book THE MISADVENTURES FINN ” in candid interview.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I was in third grade when I realized I wanted to be a writer. Our teacher had us write a short story, and I remember mine was this elaborate tale about two sisters, a magical amulet, and an evil sorcerer.  It was then that I realized that writing was a passion.

How long does it take you to write a book?

It really depends. THE LAST BITE took me fifteen years to write. HOW NOT TO BECOME A VAMPIRE, took me eleven days. It all depends on how focused I am and how much time I can dedicate to writing.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

I typically try and write after my first cup of coffee and then throughout the day I will write a few sentences. I wish I had more of a defined schedule.

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

I do a lot of research before I start writing, specifically on the historical aspects of my novels. I want the information to be as true to life as I can make it. The ideas for my books just sort of pop in my head. I always say, my books write themselves.

When did you write your first book and how old were you?

A woman never tells her age my friends. I can tell you that I wrote the first draft of THE LAST BITE when I was in my late 20’s.

Something you want to share about your book ' The Last Bite'?

‘THE LAST BITE”, is my freshman novel. I have learned so much since then and am excited to be revisiting it again and re-working the story to fit into how I write now. It is such a wonderful story but I know that I can now make it phenomenal.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I enjoy spending time with my family. I am always in the kitchen making something, (sometimes not edible but hey, I tried). During the colder months, I can be found sitting in my favorite chair crocheting blankets.

What does your family think of your writing?

I come from an immensely large family. I am the youngest of nine children and each of my living siblings are so proud of me. I am blessed to have a supportive mother as well as a happy home life where they appreciate my passion.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

That I could finish an entire book. I am known for never finishing anything. My attention gets pulled away so quickly from one thing to the next. When I write though, I get into this mode where I forget about everything else.

Do you like to create books for adults?

My books are all geared more towards those that are over eighteen years old. I do have a few children stories that I would like to put down on paper eventually.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

I have wanted to be a writer since I was a young girl. I wrote my first story in the elementary school.

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I am just now starting on my fourth book, “The Last Bite: the re-VAMP”. So far though, “The Misadventures of Finn” has been my favorite. In this book, I truly found my confidence and my literary strengths.

When your novel THE MISADVENTURES FINN will be available on Amazon?

I am hoping for a release date this spring. It is right now at my proofreaders. From there, she will send it back to me to do some more edits. I will then push it back to her for one more final look through. After the manuscript is polished, I will send it to my publisher. At that point, it will be six months until it hits Amazon and other stores.

The Covid Conspiracies - Book One - Lockdown

Covid -19,  Humanity's Apocalypse or it's Salvation? Do you have any clue what is coming? Do you harbour Orwellian dystopian thoughts of Big Brother and total control?  This series of books explores  the facts & fictions of the current pandemic as seen through the eyes of several fictional protagonists, some exploiting it, others trying to get to the truth. Do you harbour Orwellian dystopian thoughts of Big Brother and control?  Do you believe they are taking everything you have, and everything you are?

The Covid-19 Conspiracies series of books examine the facts & fictions of the current Covid-19 pandemic as seen through the eyes of several fictional protagonists;some moving the world to their different agendas; others wading through fake news, conspiracy theories & their personal fear,  paranoia and prejudices to get to the truth and an understanding of what the future has in store for humanity.

If you think, that despite our situation, our salvation is truly at hand either by Global Billionaires or Conglomerates, whatever their motives, guilt re past misdemeanors or culpability then I salute you. The world will be good for you.
And if you believe that salvation is at hand through another global power, the forces of nature, Mother Earth, Gaia, then again, I salute you.  You are at one with the planet.
But if your heart is heavy and your mind low; If you believe that Covid-19 has wrenched something from you ; ripped something out of you , stolen your dreams and desires, your hopes and aspirations then this book is truly for you. It not only shows you the truth of things, a truth which will free you from all fear. it will help you to live in these Covid times in happiness and freedom and these in turn lead to great things for you.
Why did I write this as a factional series?  Because even the fiction contained herein could be true. The facts of Covid already cannot be completely pinned down and the world is awash with all kinds of claims and counterclaims. Plus, recall, already fades.  Meanwhile conspiracy fiction is spreading like a toxic gas cloud poisoning minds; it could even be poisoning yours or just adding to the dose.

Follow the twisting path that this series takes you on and you will at the very least emerge from your hell. But I must warn you, before you read any of this, set aside any thoughts of Hollywood plots and fantastical heroes and villains; discard any notions of anachronistic Good and Evil divides. Only then will this Series mean anything to you. And it so is going to be a long, but ultimately ever so rewarding journey. This first book Lockdown takes you deep down into the nightmare.

If you want to know exactly what this series is about then.it is about;
The Covid Conspiracies, Fake News, Pandemic, Covid-19, Conspiracy Theory, Vaccine,  Globalist,  Track & Trace, Virus, Coronavirus, Lockdown, Billionaires, FAANG, Digital IDS, The Global Cabal, The Elite, Fake News, Pandemic, Covid-19, Conspiracy Theory, Illuminati, Microchip, Compulsory vaccine, Fake Pandemic, Police State, Control, Orwell, Eugenics, Huxley, 5G, Climate Change, Global Warming, Antibodies, Antigens, Simulated Reality, melting Ice-Caps, China, Pollution, 1984, USA, Big Brother, The Matrix, Nature, Man-made Virus, Manipulation, Doublespeak, The Markets, recession, VR, Icke,  PPE, WHO and frontline Health Staff NHS, SAGE Cashless Society Digital Banking and so on...  I hope you enjoy it.
